Seasonal Changes

What is it

Children observe and describe weather associated with the four seasons and how day length varies across the year, building the habit of recording simple, regular observations over time.

Why it matters

Tracking change over time — not just a single observation — is a core scientific skill, and seasons give children a real, everyday example they experience directly rather than an abstract one.

Exam tip

Be able to name the four seasons in order and match at least one typical weather feature to each — this is one of the most reliably tested facts at this level.
