What is it
GCSE Foundation geometry covers angle facts, properties of 2D and 3D shapes, area, perimeter, volume, and constructions — building directly on KS3 geometry with more complex, multi-step problems.
Why it matters
Geometry questions are marked heavily on method and reasoning, not just the final answer — showing clear working and stating angle facts explicitly earns marks even if the final number goes wrong.
Exam tip
Always show your working for geometry problems, including labelling any angles or lengths you calculate along the way — method marks are available even when the final answer is incorrect, but only if the working is visible.
